'Exploring Painting Tools Beyond the Brush' 

Creating colourful works on recycled upholstery fabric using acrylics and alternative painting tools.

Drawing inspiration from Daniel Walbidi's painting 'Kirriwirri' in a visit to Undisclosed: 2nd National Indigenous Art Triennial at the gallery.

(Ages 6 – 12 years)

'Creating Sea Creatures from Mixed Media'

Inspired by Far North Queeensland artist Ken Thaiday Snr's dynamic sculptural exhibition, 'Erub Kebe Le', children will experiment with mixed media to create their own sea creatures from life or their imagination.

SEPTEMBER 2013 SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - ART WORKSHOP 1

(Ages 10 - 16 years)

'Creating Butterflies, Beetles & Other Tropical Critters'

Making large scale insect sculptures from wire, foam, plastic wrap and other mixed media. These colourful creations will brighten the Tanks Art Centre during the Wet Tropics Management Authority Awards in November this year. Be a part of this exciting project!

After this showcase, the children's works will be on display at the Botanic Gardens Visitor's Centre.

'TINY TACKERS' ART CLASSES:  REGULAR 6-WEEK PROGRAMS

An educational art program for the very young, to attend with their carers. Children explore the gallery's exhibitions and develop early creative skills with 45 minutes of interactive, messy fun each week.

MAY / JUNE 2012

REACH PRIMARY SCHOOL WORKSHOPS & EXHIBITION

In collaboration with REACH (Education QLD) and Cairns Regional Council, I am delivering a series of workshops in local primary schools, including Mareeba, Freshwater and Edge Hill State Schools. Working experimentally on collaborative works, this 6-week project will culminate in a Primary Schools Contemporary Arts Exhibition, Making My Mark, in the Cairns CBD. A selection of studies as well as final works will be on display at c1907 Contemporary Artspace for the first week of the school holidays.

Creating textured works using impasto painting techniques, exploring a variety of interesting tools.

PRE-SCHOOL ‘ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE’ 2011-2012 (Ages 3-4 years)

Guiding pre-school aged children through a range of age-appropriate creative activities to enhance their early learning arts curriculum. Children explored a wide range of techniques and materials in both individual and group works.

MAY 2011

Hosting children’s workshop, ‘Mark Making’, at Cairns Regional Gallery in conjunction with Earth Whispers. The kids will visit the exhibition and then be encouraged to experiment with a range of  materials and techniques, working on both paper and fabric supports.
